Another Week Has Passed

October 15, 2012

My Dearest Family and Friends,

I was so happy to read all of your wonderful emails that I received last week. Ah, you are all the best.

AHHHH, AND YES I WAS SO STOKED TO HEAR ABOUT THE MISSIONARY AGE!! Ah. I am so pumped. I think that the number of missionaries is going to double. And that is just so awesome. I think about ALL of the BYU freshman this year putting in their mission papers and it is all i can do to keep from shouting. I am so happy. And just think of all of the Dear Johns that are going to be avoided!! haha. Yes, i got to watch conference in the chapel...in spanish. So I dont know if my notes contain what was really said, or just what i felt. Either way, it was incredible powerful. I loved it. But i didnt get to see the priesthood session. :(

...

In other news, I forgot to tell you all that Elder Ellis is still in my district. Haha. He is in Camargo, which is just an hour from here, and I see him every week in district meeting. ELder Hallsted is in our zone, and he is in Parral. Parral is so green and Hilly (we went there for zone conference), and it is clean, and it reminds me of Guatemala City. But here, Jimenez, yes, very much a desert. Not a single hill, which is nice for the bikes. ANd when it is windy, they have these mini dust storms that sting the eyes. It is awesome. There actually used to be a river here...like 5 year ago. Now...not a single drop of water. So sad.

Yes, this mission is especially strict, but it is a blessing. And I am sure that it helps protect the dumb Americans too. Haha. But we really do recieve so many blessings. In all of this mission, we had over 700 progressing investigators in attendance at General Conference. Over 200 people were brought by members to the conference. and we got over 1000 new investigators as a result of the conference. It is the time of the Cosecha or the harvest.

This last week was especially hard though. We had to stop visiting two investigators because their husbands got mad at them and at us. The men here are a rough and tumble bunch. We only have 2 male investigators, and they are both 15. ALl of our investigators are women. Next week, i will focus more on there life situacions and such, cause i wont have to describe the area and all. Sorry for the short email. I am out of time.  But i love you all, and I look forward to hearing from you. It is so crazy that I have already been gone for almost 3 months.

Love,

Elder Hansen
