Update

November 12, 2012

Dearest Fam,

I truly do love receiving all of your letters. You all are the best. :)

Ha, yes mom, We teach all of these women in the street. It is quite
the sight. But i dont take many pictures. I am sending some today
though. :) Ha, I live in Ciudad Jimenez. But Jimenez is also the
county, so i understand how you could get conflicting reports on where
it is. I actually DO eat pecans very often. I have about 100 lying on
a chair in our patio area to dry out. Then i walk out and crack one
open any time i desire. Its awesome. Oh, last pday we played
basketball and ordered a pizza and then we were too tired to play
soccer.

Mom and Tess are in Hawaii?? What in the world. You are so lucky. But
you probably still arent as tan as me...well...my forearms at least.
heh.

I am so blessed here in Jimenez. We have a maid that sweeps our front
porch. Ha. Its awesome. (we...well...I...still do all of the cleanin
inside. I now realize that I am kind of OCD....but not as much as Aunt
Annette.)

Gerardo is doing well, we havent been able to teach him much. But he
is good. Ha. Funny thing i forgot to tell you...He is a clown. Ha. But
a legitimate clown with a red nose and all. haha. Its awesome. He
hasnt been to church yet, so we will keep trying to animarle (i dont
know how to say that in english...get him excited?) His neighbor is
the 2nd counselor in the branch presidency, so he should be able to
help us out with a ride.

I love the pictures you send me. But i still ahvent figured out how to
print them off. I think i will have to put them on a little hard drive
thingy and print them off somewhere else in this city. But keep
sending pictures. I like seeing your faces and what you are up to.

Now, i just wanna talk about Alma. Alma is the best. Seriously. I love
her. She is about 50 years old. She has short hair that was once died
maroonish (kind of like mom), but now is fading to gray (not at all
like mom). :) She has two sons who are grown and married, and a 5 year
old daughter. She is divorced, and lives alone with her daughter. She
doesnt have much. And this week, we learned that she has breast
cancer. SHe has had a very hard life. But she is AWESOME. She signed
up to feed us this last week. And her cooking was the best food i have
had here. We cooked over a fire outside. Sooo cool. She will be
baptised this saturday at 2. SHe still is a little scared, but we
visit her every day to help her get excited. Almost all of the members
were surprised when SHE announced her baptism in church, because they
thought she was already a member. Haha. But she has seen her life
change so much over the past month. ANd she has received so many
blessing and answers to her prayers. The reason that alma 32 applied
to her life so much was because, like in verse 12, she feels compelled
to be humble at times, because of her Cancer. But blessed is she. One
day, she kneeled down and began to pray. And right then, in the other
room, her 5 year old daughter began ¨reading¨ the pamphlets we have
given her. But she cant read. But she was saying all of these
beautiful things about Gods love for us and our need to press forward,
and it was the answer to Almas prayer. Ha. So many experiences like
this, she has had.

Well I am out of time.

I love you all so much.

Sincerely,

Elder Romney Hansen
