Hey There Fellow Gringos,
Can someone send me the music and
lyrics to "If you could Hie to Kolob" in english, and spanish. Cause its
not in this hymnbook, and that makes me sad.
AHHH. I was so
happy to get all of your emails! And i will be even more happy to read
them. But i did just spend the last ten minutes adoring your baby girl
Chony. SO CUTE. Ah. She is so lucky to be born into such a wonderful
family. Nuclear and extended. What an angel.
Laynie, your letter last week was incredible. ha. I love it. Yes, my
companion knows how weird i am. and yes, i do serenade him with song.
Daily. The whole of Jimenez really. I kind of just belt it in the
streets. Ha. And you need to stop spoiling that baby girl. ha. A laundry
basket! Make sure you dont give her a swiffer duster for christmas. I
wouldnt want her thinking she was better than the other children. I cant
wait to hear more of those mission stories of Grandpa Hansen.
Mom, the work is just grand. This week, we found a lot of really
great people. We have a bunch of pinholes on our map in our house. but
now teaching records in the area book (misisonaries before us never made
any). So we have been searching out these pinholes, and every time we
do, we find someone awesome. Even though most were not the formers that
were indicated on the map. Jimenez is actually pretty small. Idk how
much i walk...a lot. I dont know how to describe Jimenez. Google images
will probably do a better job. But sometimes i feel like i am walking
down a dirty street in Paul, Idaho, then i turn the corner, and feel
like i am in Antigua. It is really cool actually. Some parts of the city
are hundreds of years old, and others are 2 years old. So it is just a
wild combination of architectures and styles. I like it. Now we just
need street sweeper. Even though everyone sweeps the section of road in
front of their house anyways.
Our little branch here is still super excited. They are still
visiting the less actives every week. And two weeks ago, the results
showed. More than 75 people in attendance. But yesterday...only 40. I
could see that everyone was bummed, and losing excitements. It also just
so happened that Elder Ledezma and I spoke in sacrament meeting. My
talk was prepared with the less actives in mind, to help then understand
that we cannot use adversity and afflictions to diminish our faith (i
relied heavily on Jeffrey R. Hollands talk "An High Priest of Good
Things to Come,"). I translated large portions of that talk and just
kind of drove it home. And, in reality, in that moment it applied more
to these bummed out members than to any less actives (zero of which were
in attendance). But this talk also really helped me to keep up the
excitement. Cause the work is hard. But if we trust in God in our
trials, we will see the blessings.
Well, i am out of time. Tell Grandpa i love him. Tell Tess to hang
in there. And pray like crazy. I can actually email her, (family,
booyah), so send me her email address. OH, and also, a little confusion.
I can only open an email if it is from a family member. But i have had
some friends email me. So just to clarify, if it is an emergency, maybe
you mom can email me on behalf of a friend. But if i am not related to
you. DearElder or handwritten please. Otherwise i cant open it.
Love you all.
Love,
Elder Romney Vonhansen
