MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! :)
How have you all been???
Quick
notice, i received emails from 3 friends today, and the temptation was
crazy to read them. So, i just deleted them instead. Please make sure
that it is known roundabout, that i can only read emails from direct
family members. Thank you.
Things have been kind of crazy here. In a quick summary, i had
exchanges last week, which is why i could write, because i was on a bus
for 9 hours. I am now in Juarez. My area is called Chapultepec 2. It is
pretty cool. We found 6 new investigators my first day. That week, we
put 5 baptismal dates. And on sunday 5 of those fell. Yes. all of them.
Not one person came to church. But its all good. Cause we rounded 3 of
them back up to be baptised on the 5th of January.
My companion is named Elder Flavio Monasterio. Guess where he is
from... GUATEMALA. Chiquimula, Guatemala to be exact. He has one year in
the mission. He speaks nothing of english, and he uses wierd words i
dont know. Makes me feel like my spanish is horrible...but then i just
think about how awesome my spanish will be after this.
I am not going to write much, because i am going to call Mom, dad,
brie, and west pretty soon.....the rest of you...just remember that i
really do love you.
Oh, the day after i arrived, we went to THE
TEMPLE!!! Ah, it was so pretty and peaceful. I wish i could go every
week... dont you? And i saw Elder Boudreaux there as well. I am the only
white person in my zone, so that is pretty cool. And after the temple,
we all settled down in a chapel for some turkey, corn and mashed
potatoes, to watch a slideshow of pictures the missionaries took in
2012. I got to know the family of President Angulo. They all came and
talked to me forever just because i look like an elder that they were
good friends with a while ago. Solid. And we were trained by President
Angulo. Always a party. oh, and i received a letter from my dear friend
Cade owen. AND, i finally got my halloween and Thanksgiving packages.
Turns out president was just holding onto them so that i would receive
something for christmas. Then he gave me a stocking with my name on it.
So i celebrated Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, all on the same
night. So grand.
The work here in Chapultepec 2 is moving along quickly. I hope to see the harvest.
We have been focusing many of our lessons on the birth of Jesus. It grabs peoples attenttion this time of year. it is awsome.
Oh, and my first sunday here, i was honored to speak. And then
afterwards, everyone came and asked us for books of mormon to give as
gifts to their friends and neighbors. Win.
Well, i wish you all a
Very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. I love you all so much.
Sorry i am kind of rushed today....well....sorry i am always rushed. but
i have important stuff to do here in Juarez. And i only have 40 minutse
to talk to my fam.
Love,
Elder Hansen
