I was on the radio!

Hiii. :)

Ok, so here is the dealio. I do not receive any DearElders or handwritten letters or packages until the next time I go to the mission office, which is when I get to pick them up. But I do not know when that will be. So sorry if I do not get them yet. Also, seeing as i do not have much time, I just copy, pasted, and printed, all of your emails so that I can read them throughout the week, but I haven't read them yet. Sorry.

Oh, and I forgot to tell you that there are about 170 missionaries in the Chihuahua Mexico Mission. And there are only 2 cities that have sister missionaries. They are few in number. And we will be getting a new Mission President in about a year, so it will be interesting to see what changes he makes.
Also, we only eat 1 meal a day, which is with a member. But we do not get to eat dinner. Although we can eat when we get home at night. Snacks. Lots of snacks. And I do eat a bowl of cereal during scripture study in the mornings.
Anywho, this week has been SUPER CRAZY!! I will give as many details as I can.

I gave Elder Leon root beer. He hated it. Said it tasted like medicine. Haha.
Since General Conference was coming up, we were given over 1000 fliers to hand out announcing it. And every morning we received a phone call early (like 5:15) telling us that it was time to wake up. We then only did 1 hour of personal study, then 1 hour of companionship study (on Friday we didn't even get that), before we were out the door working. It was crazy, but I love the way I feel after a long days work. The mission work is super duper hard. I have never done anything so frustrating, or emotionally and physically draining in my life. But I do love it.

On Tuesday, we had a lesson with a progressing investigator, Mela, and we taught her the Plan of Salvation. SHE COMMITTED TO BE BAPTIZED THIS MONTH!! So now we have 2 investigators with baptismal dates for this month. I guess you could say the work is slow...more or less. But then on Saturday, Mela didn't come to conference, so we went to see why, and it turns out that she was in the hospital. She found out that she is about 5 weeks pregnant, and she is really sick and is bedridden for the next two weeks. But if she can attend church in two weeks, she should still be able to be baptized on the 27th. And she has much desire.

Oh, I forgot to tell you that I, yes, Elder Guero (EVERYONE here calls me Guero, and it means something like pale white gringo, but in an affecionate way or something), was ON THE RADIO. Which is actually kind of a downer, because we were supposed to have an interview on the TV, but the cameras were broken. Anywho, we had an interview on the radio, yes I actually spoke in Spanish on a Spanish radio station in a city of 50,000 Spanish speakers. And we had a caller, who was asking for more directions the chapel. Bien Suave.
And everyone we talked to asked if we were the people on the radio.

OHHH. Biggest news of all. I am now onto my second companion. President Angulo came to Jimenez on Wednesday and told us that Elder Leon and Elder Tena (Both of the Elders that had been in the city for a while) were being transferred, and Elder Ledezma and I (both brand spanking new to the area) would be staying. So now we have about 30 investigators in just our companionship. And we don't know the city. And I STILL don't speak Spanish. But all is well. I love it. And we gain the confidence of the people more and more each day.

Oh, and i have some gnarly tan lines from my shirt collar, and my watch. Very distinct. Its wild.

Oh, and could someone send me the formulas to change inches into meters or whatever, and Fahrenheit into Celsius, and lbs in something. Cause that would be convenient.

Oh, and can you post on my fb a link to the blog or something, cause I cant exactly write to anyone other than family really. The lack of mail is disheartening. But whatevs.

I am out of time now. Sorry this email is kind of short. But I love you all so so much. And I miss you all so much.  I will read your emails throughout the week.

Love,
Elder Hansen
