Hey Family!! :)
The scriptures are amazing. I finally finished making my scripture marking system for my scriptures. It has 42 different categories of scripture; color and tab coordinated. No one else here understands it, but it makes sense to me. And it makes study more fun cause i get to find something amazing on almost every page! Haha.
Well on P-days (fridays), we get to go to the temple. We have to arrive at the temple at 2:10 so that we can make the 2:40 session. The temple is amazing! It is such a great place to feel the spirit and
receive answers to prayers.
This week we got 2 new investigators. Antonio and Jairo. We thought that our first lesson with antonio went horribly because we didn't get to teach any of our planned lesson. But when we met with him 2 days later, he had progressed so much! he had read the pamphlet we gave him! And after that appointment, he has committed to read and pray about the Book of Mormon, To be baptized, and he is coming to church on sunday with his family! I know that it is just acting, but i feel the spirit so much during our discussions. ANd i tear up when i see how the gospel is changing and blessing peoples lives. This gospel is so amazing, and it is true.
This week the MTC got 4 new missionaries that are also going to Chihuahua. So there are 9 of us in the MTC chihuahua bound. It is so great. This week, 4 guys from our district our leaving to go to other MTC's. They are going to Columbia and Peru and I am going to miss them.
It is amazing how quickly the language is coming! I have had dreams where other people were speaking spanish (simple spanish of course) but SPANISH NONETHELESS!. Haha. It makes me happy. Gift of Tongues. Ahhh.
I feel like i was born in the MTC. How long have i been here? Idk. More of my friends from BYU keep coming in each week. It is so great to see them all! Now i just need to work on getting some pictures taken with them. That is what my companion is for right? Taking pictures? Ha, no, my companion is amazing. He is such a great help and he is so good at inviting the Spirit during our lessons. I was blessed to have him as my companion. He is like an olympic class water polo player. Who knew! I don't know why i have had such a blessed life. What did i do to deserve these blessings. Some of the other elders in our district like to goof a lot, and they sometimes say things that makes the spirit slam the door on its way out. And then we have to work on inviting the spirit back. It makes me sad when that happens. But i know that everyone will realize the importance of having the companionship of the spirit as we prepare to serve.
I have been working on seeing people in an eternal perspective, the way God would see them. And it is incredible how much love you can feel for people when you try to see them the way God would. It makes me so excited to help the people of Mexico come to a remembrance of who they really are.
Well, i have been called to be the District Leader. So i wont get as much personal study time because i will be in leadership meetings, but i am grateful for the opportunity that i will have to work more with the progression of others than i do for myself. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve. I love it here. And I wouldn't want to be anywhere else right now. Sorry if my letters are scattered. Or if if forgot to mention some things. But i will try to keep you all updated as best as i can.
I love you all so much. Thank you for your examples. You really are the best family in the world. I miss you all. Best of luck in all that you do. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers. It has helped a lot.
I just realized yesterday that i will get to call you on Christmas! haha. Isn't that exciting! k, i'm out of time. Love you.
Love,
Elder Romney Vaughn Hansen
