A Tale of Two Missions - Feb 25th Letter

My Dearest family,

How are you all? Still fantastic? I hope so. This week has been a good one.

On Monday, we had divisions. I went to work with the Companero mayor in the area of Los Aztecas. We found some pretty cool people. But I did find out about some pretty great problems between the companionship in that area. We are working on it. Just small petty things. Ridiculous.

On Tuesday, the zone leaders called, and told me that as District leader, i have to have at least 14 lessons taught each day...I am still working on it...but i do get close. Still hitting an average of 10.  Its cool though.

On Wednesday, we taught the girlfriend of a less active member, she came out and told us that she wants to be baptized. We were so excited...until we found out that she doesn't live in our area. But the other Elders in my district were excited to find out that we already put a baptismal date with on of their investigators. They later put one with her dad as well. We are excited.

Thursday, another young woman came up to me and told me that she wants to be baptised as well. She is friends with the young women in the Rivera family that we baptised in January. She told us that she already talked to her grandma, and that we can pass by their house to teach them on Saturday, that we did.

We also had a Capacitacion by Presidente Angulo on Thursday, in the which he told us the grand news of La Mision Mexico Ciudad Juarez. WOOHOO!!! I still don't to which mission i will belong, Chihuahua, or Juarez. But with the way things are going right now, i might be staying in Juarez for the next year and a half. But who knows really. We are pretty excited that the lord is Apresurando his work in this way, and so soon.

We have 4 months left with La Mision Mexico Chihuahua, La Mision Maravillosa, with our dear President Angulo. We will achieve the grand harvest in that time.

On Saturday, we were to have an awesome stake activity, with all of the investigators, less actives, recent converts, and active members, in the which we were to learn about family history, then we all were going to go to the Temple, and have an activity there, outside. Then return to the stake for a grand baptismal service of all of the 12 baptisms programmed for the zone. Unfortunately, it was not very well coordinated, the temple was closed, nobody came, and there was only 1 baptism, with very weird talks given by the stake presidency about Quetzalcoatl being Jesus, and about how if we are inactive, we cant achieve the Celestial kingdom....bummer. I was hoping that that activity would have excited our investigators...shoot. But its all good, i got to spend a lot of time with Mayra and her family, our recent convert, in their car on the ride. It felt like home for a bit.

On sunday morning, i was walking and looking at my cell phone looking for a phone number, and i ran into a car...
My companion died laughing.

We had four investigators in church (One was Mayra's husband, who came for the first time). There was good attendance. And instead of talks, there were goodbyes said by four familys, who are now being moved to a different ward, because all of the areas are changing to accomodate the 2 new stakes. Already changing. Holy canoly.

We have been having very harsh sand storms this week. It fills the nose, eyes, ears, hair, shoes, everything. And one night, it was sand, mixed with snow. so cold. It hurts. But it is fun...now i just need to ride about it in my journal...I hope that you keep these letters, cause i have no free time to write in my journal...i will work on it.

Well, i love you all. I am going to go play soccer now with my district. Woot woot. Have a great week. Stay awesome. Stay beautiful. Baptise a friend. Tell Kara Schmitt that i am working on her letter, and have been working on it for the last three weeks..i write about one paragraph each week... its rough.

Love,
Elder Romney Hansen

p.s. I have been working on perfecting my mexican accent. I just repeat the english words the way my companion says them. heh heh. Love it.

There was so much dust in the air that we could look directly at the sun. it was pretty cool.

This is my first companion, Elder Leon, and some pictures of Jimenez
