Oh, it's Glorious - August 19th, 2013 letter

Ello poppet,

Pirates of the Caribbean quote for the win.

This week i heard an efy song called Glorious by Russ Dixon...and i fell in love. I have asked a member of the church here to put it on my USB. Stoked.

Our mission leader returned to the city this week, and we had our coordination meeting with him and assigned members to be friends with investigators and less actives (yes, you can assign friends), and then what do you know, our mission leader got released yesterday, and will now be a seminary teacher. Ahora, Doctor Cervantes will be our mission leader. He is so great. He was actually in Utah for the last couple of weeks, and he speaks english, and is really excited for the missionary work. Will be official this next sunday

And well, you already know that be have been battling for the last few weeks trying to find investigators and to help people go to church, and i must say, that we changed some things this week. And we had the miracle of having 4 investigators in church, after a month of zeros. Good things are happening.

Ah, and Saturday was SO COOL!! We had the stake primary activity. It has been in preparation for a while now. So all of the kids in the stake had interviews with their bishops, and then the next week they received large white envelopes with their mission call in it, and a plane ticket, and they were to report to the MTC (stake center) this last saturday. We as missionaries, were like the MTC instructors. The kids all came in their missionary clothes and had their missionary tags, and scriptures, and backpacks, etc. And they were assigned a mission. I had a group of about 8 kids, in the mission Idaho. I showed them all of the pictures of idaho i had. Talked to them about the food, about the weather, about al that jazz. And then took them through a day in the mission. Made them do exercise. We studied the scriptures. Made Plans. And afterwards, I sent them off to the airport (in the cultural hall, they made an airplane, that looked like an actual inside of an airplane, and even had air hosteses which gave drinks and snacks to the kids) and when they arrived at the airport, they left with a missionary, and a priesthood holder, to go visit all of the less active kids in the stake. So cool. And they all were so excited.

The mission really is exciting. I love it. I have a very firm testimony that Our Father knows each and every one of us personally. I am here in Chihuahua not just to help other people, but because the Lord knew that i need to be here, for my own conversion as well. I have grown so much, in just one year. And i still have another one. I am so excited for all that is to come.

Keep it real. I love you all so much. Thank you all for the wonderful letters. I love them. Dont feel bad if i dont respond in a faster time frame. i am trying.
Welp, see ya later.
Love,

Elder Hansen
